Well, as Mr Wan explained, the buttons are not laser marked because if they are marked, the case must be designed so that they will not spin in place, and as L3 is smaller than L5P there's no much space to do so unless they change the case design or thickness much, which is not very plausible as L&P is a really small company.
BTW L3 is said to be shipped with a blue leather protective case, but they did not give any image of what its gonna look like.

Luckily I have a brown L3 case.

Some people might prefer the blue one instead of brown leather-ish color.

Anyway, I believe the first two hundred units sold in China would come with the crazy horse leather(brown) case, not sure about our indigo units though.

Perhaps laser a F for forward, P for pause, B for back markings would be useful no matter their orientation. Top buttons H for home and Roman numerals for I, II.. all more useful than a blank button.

All the buttons have printed symbols beside them, it is only the symbols for right three (play, forward, backward) are blocked when using a leather case. Oh well, I would wish there have been engraving of some kind, but three buttons aren't too hard to memorized.

The only problem, you have two skip buttons and Play/pause button above it, while those who have AK daps (and the new Opus#1) will be a bit confused since they are used to Play/pause being between skip buttons ;)  Uh, you can never make everybody happy lol!!!

Gabba, I really prefer the sound of the Sharpie needle point in permanent gold metallic ink.  It adds much more air to the treble and slam to the bass.  I find the normal black ink is a bit lethargic in the midbass region and really muddies the highs.
