So what do you think, bud, from the first unboxing listening?  I still can't get over the holographic soundstage expansion when connected to balanced output.  L&P nailed it!  Oh, and the reason I hooked up some more demanding cans just to push it to the limit, to give people an idea since power output was of a concern.  There is no gain setting, what you hear is what you get, and L3 is definitely optimized for IEMs/CIEMs and efficient headphones, no doubt about that.
 
How do you hear the sound out of the box?  I know I rushed in with my first minute impression where to my ears L5 Pro low end had more impact and sounds warmer in comparison to a more balanced and neutral L3, but I will come back to it tonight after work to check it out after the burn in.  One thing for sure, EL-8C and T5p.2 upper mids and treble was more piercing.  Can't wait how it sounds after the burn in.

This morning I switched from SE burn in (was using ibasso burn in load cable) to balanced output with A83 using Fidue's new balanced SPC - never heard A83 sound so wide/deep before, excellent pair up, and also a very articulate and tight low end.  I will need a little bit of time to spend listening and comparing, plus got a ton of reviews to work on.  Doesn't help getting new toys every other day... 
 
Btw, the unit I received is pre-production where some of the components might not be final,  L&P is working on last minute updates and more fw fine-tuning, thus things can only go up from here.  Not sure if this going to affect IGG delivery date, but in my opinion better wait another few weeks or a month and get a final fine tuned product.

Amazing, right?  I honestly was a bit skeptical, but soundstage width control really scales up going from SE to balanced in this case.

I totally forgot L3 has 16GB of on-board memory.  So, I had my micro-SD ready with files, until I hooked it up to my laptop to realize there is internal memory.  No issues with library update here, but then I don't have a big file lib to begin with, just 3GB of test files.
 
They did change GUI layout a bit, and I prefer a few things in L5 Pro better, but it's a work in progress.
