To be clear you are referring to Pass, correct? Luxman was superior only with LCD 3 and only in relation to punch and control, right?
Exactly and when is use in balaced 😉

Has anyone ever compared the Luxman to a tube headphone amplifier?

Your question assumes all tube amps sound alike which cannot be further from the truth.

I see your point but I was just curious.
Luxman makes good stuff. I wouldn't worry about tube amps if you like what you are hearing already. Often in this hobby "more [x] is not better" - you can fill in the blank.

Purchased a Bakoon 13R. Going head to head with the Luxman. It's really, really close.

When I had the Luxman P700u, I compared it to my Auris Nirvana tube amp. The P750u is an improvement over the 700u but the difference wasn't enough to make me want to sell the 700u and buy the 750. The headphones that I had during the time I owned the 700u and Nirvana included the Susvara, 1266TC, Utopia, ZMF VO and VC. I preferred the Nirvana on all headphones for its bigger soundstage and more engaging vocals. I sold the 700u after owning it for about 4 years and I haven't looked back. For reference, my source was my Aurender W20SE server/streamer and Holo May KTE. For the Susvara, the difference between the 2 amps was very significant. The Nirvana drives the Susvara with authority where as the 700u seemed liked it was lacking in power.

Good post. When I had the Susvara, I too felt the Luxman wasn't giving it enough juice. When I put the Susvara on an integrated, I finally felt the oomph of the headphones.

I decided to sell the Bakoon. The Luxman is just as good if not better, IMO. I reached the point where if I make an amplifier change, it will probably be in the valve direction.

I haven't listed the Bakoon yet. If anyone is interested, feel free to PM me.

Hi, I'm looking for this amplifier and since it's not available in Europe I was considering getting it directly to Japan, many sellers combine a 220/100V converter (made in Japan) for the European market. Could this converter lead to signal disturbances in the long run?

My current headphone listening chain consists of dac aqua la scala on trafomatic head 2 and naim Atom headphone edition.

I hate using converters and the amp is available in Europe.
Here's the Dutch distributor for Luxman: https://audioscript.nl/producten/hoofdtelefoon-versterkers/p-750u/
Maybe you can ask them where to get it in Italy?
This guy here on eBay sells them in France and has a physical store as well: https://www.benl.ebay.be/str/minghighendaudio
He can be trusted, I bought from him before.
