The smallest IEMs I own are the UE700s. They have a nice treble extension, a slightly recessed mid range, and a deep bass extension. Though the bass goes deep, it is not "in your face" loud. To my ear, it seems that the UE700 bass reproduces at lower frequency than the SE530s, but the mid bass is not a present.
If you want to wear something under gun ear protectors for lawn mowing or other loud jobs, the UE700s are perfect. Though I haven't used the UE700s for this purpose, my old Shure e4c's did great under my Winchester ear protectors. The UE700s are smaller than the e4c's.

6 years on, and pl50s are stupid expensive compared to what they used to be.
