They were originally going to leave it blank, but then people would have called it 12., since that's the track number.

Interesting! Little quirks like this this always intrigue me when I get into a band

For every decent band I can name several complete garbage bands...

Whitesnake, anyone? (Or _________ insert Big Hair Band Name Here).
Madonna?
Wham! / George fkn Michael?
The abomination that Genesis became? - or Mike and the Mechanics?
Asia
Starship
Huey Lewis
Tears For Fears
Flock of Seaguls

I could go on and on.

But hey, that's just my opinion, no offense.
Grunge was a relief.

it's not my fault you only listened to the bad music in the 80s. :p
every decade has far more bad music than good music, FTR.

and without the 80s postpunk scene, there would be no grunge.

i actually like 80s madonna. there hasn't been a worthwhile pop star since madonna, prince, and michael jackson in their collective prime. i'm not ashamed to admit that i like 80s madonna. her songs sound incredible on my hd650s. perhaps that is why i suddenly like her so much.

What bothered me most was that my favorite bands disappeared (Led Zep) or just started putting out lame music (Bruce Springsteen, Rush, Pink Floyd) or became total abominations (Genesis, Van Halen). I'm NOT bitter, LOL.
You are right there was good music to be had, if I would have had the tools available today.
