I'm trying to fix a problem I have with my Headroom Micro Amp/DAC stack.
When everything is plugged in (USB, Enigma Mini to Mini, Headphone via Mini) I get a very loud buzzing sound in the headphones. I am not sure what the cause is yet and is what I am trying to figure out.
Here is the problem:
-The 6" Enigma cable uses 90 degree switchcraft plugs, and when I touch the top of both plugs (which are metal) with my finger the loud buzz becomes about 1/4 of the volume.
-When I unplug the USB but leave everything else plugged in and on the buzz goes away completely.
-When I touch the USB plug to the port, but don't push it in, I hear the buzz.
-When I use a 3ft generic mini to mini cable there is no buzz and everything works perfectly.
I have not really tried to use the enigma cable with anything else yet but that is my next step.
Is there anything else that could be causing the problem that is related to the Enigma cable? I am confused as to why such a high end cable may cause this.
