She has several good albums but I would say two best overall for me are:
-Mask and Mirror
-The Visit

Then if you feel you need more get some of the others like:
-Book of Secrets
-Paralell Dreams

Not a big fan but keep some around along with Enya etc for ocassional listen when in a New Age mood.

She is absolutly remarkable (I am a rock fan). I was demoing a set of Theta Digital speakers a long time ago and i heard someone play a song from the Mask and the Mirror. (The two trees i think). It simply blew me away. I went out to have a look for the cd with no luck. Anyway a month later i watch this Anime Music Video which has her famous Mummers Dance in the background, and so the search left the mask and the mirror and headed over to her latest book of secrets.

Anyway after months of looking and finding not a lot (that was affordable anyway) i stumbled into the disc shop at Uni and low and behold there it was. I bought it, and the day after i went back and bought every other cd she had. It was truely remarkable. I still tend to enjoy the book of secrets regardless of the mood i'm in.

My fav song has to be The Highway man.

From an audiophile point of view this cd is great for testing speakers because of the big boomy bass and the limitless detail in the songs. I had the chance to listen to the Mummers Dance and The Highway Man on B&W's Flagship Nautilus speakers driven by Electrocompaniet NEMO amp, and CD. It blew me away.

This is a must have for all.

Heard some more Loreena music used in soundtrack last night. On SciFi Network was watching the last part of Highlander Endgame and closing sequence after all the killing is done and sad rememberances/regrets are realized they slowly bring in the beautiful bittersweet "Bonny Portmore" from the album The Visit to close out the movie.

I have the bonus disc of The Journey Begins. With only 5 songs, I am hooked. Too bad that YourMusic doesn't have anything by her. Still, I am going to find all of her stuff on half.com. She is really up there like Enya and I like the combination of textures and poetry along more "authentic" feel of her sound. Great stuff. Got to search now.

Man, I have got to get her entire catalog. She is simply a great artist and a great find. Even if you are not into New Age, Folk(lore), or that kind of music, her voice alone will make you want to own her music. Highly recommended. Go to allmusic.com to search for her stuff and reviews and perhaps SecondSpin.com to order.

Get her entire catalog; it is not big. Especially now that it has been remastered: http://www.quinlanroad.com/

But if you have to pick:
Elemental -- her first and most folksy; yet the concluding track is stunning.
The Visit -- This is the album that she has really carved a niche of her own.
the mask and mirror -- where her artisty blooms through absorption of influences from Spanish-Andalusian and middle-eastern roots.

Several (all?) of her CD's have been remastered, and they are selling with a bonus DVD as well. I bought the remastered The Mask & Mirror, I think it's a little better than the original CD.

I have also been lucky to hear her up close; she did an in-store appearance for tm&m at a local HMV, and I was perhaps 10 feet away. A beautiful and powerful voice from a fairly small-framed person, it was amazing to experience!

Patiently awaiting her new work as well.....

Does she have some new CD/CDs in the making? I have just about all of her CDs and thought she must have stopped making them because there has been nothing new for a couple of years. I'm more than ready to get some more of her music; her voice is truely amazing. I still get shivers whenever I listen to The Mummers Dance!

No matter what, Headfi makes me spend money! I checked to see what CDs I had and discovered that I seem to have only 4 of her CDs.

So, I went to her site and bought 3 more - remastered with the bonus DVD. I don't have any of her shorter CDs either, but that was all I could afford right now.
