I'm glad to see the two versions being released at the same time unlike The Lord of The Rings.

The Fellowship case has a nice leather book texture that I wish the Hobbit one had. It might be the classiest CD case I've ever encountered. But the Hobbit OST has 2 discs and a lot more tracks so I'll see how they match up musically. I'm definitely going to sit down for a listen later tonight.

The cover of the special edition is too delicate.

The album is well recorded, music doesn't sound thin and every instrument is more distinctive than The Lord of The Rings.  I hope we get to hear Renee Fleming, Sheila Chandra and the others in future albums.
