Looking for the perfect headphones for <$200 - HELP!

You would need to get an 1/8" adapter as the 225s don't come with one. You either go the Radio Shack route for about $5 or buy the Grado adapter. If you plan on amping them get the Grado. Their adapter casing is slimmer and works better when you're dealing with small portable amps where the parts are all much closer together.

Would I have problems from using an adapter all the time, like reduced sound quality, or a much bulkier end?

You would think so, but they don't. I believe all the models below the 225 in the product line do come with an adapter. I guess they figure anybody spending $200 or more on cans would never use a portable device.

So right now, I am hearing a lot about the sr225's and about the ath-eS7's. Between them, which would be the best choice for sound, comfort, etc.?

Comfort goes to ATH-ES7, but there are people who use Sennheiser HD 414 pads which reportedly sound better and are far more comfortable. Sound, strictly in my opinion goes to SR 225, which I'm sure alot of people would agree with me.

They are two very different headphones. The Grado is open, and the AT is closed. Grado is less portable and the ATs are foldable. It all comes down to whether you want more portability or more sound quality.

if you value a lot of good bass impact, the sr225 and ES7 will probably not satisfy the hunger for block rocking bass...

What would you suggest for more bass, but still great overall sound?

So right now I'm leaning towards the Grado's, but this is my first big headphone purchase, so I'm kind of hesitant to just go out and buy a pair. I also don't know where I should go to buy these if/when I do buy them.
