Hi,
I'm looking for some gaming & movies (mainly) headphones.
Currently looking towards the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 (110$@amazon).

Price range - ~140$ (Preferably not more).

The main usage will probably be gaming (FPS and MMO), movies (Action and Sci-Fi), and some music (Rock [mainly classic {Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd}] and Metal).

Probably buying from amazon, mainly because they're the cheapest ATM.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Guy.

Those look nice and they're pretty cheap. How do they sound especially when you like them better than the AD700?

Similiar sound but bigger and more in every respect except for highs don't go quite as far up. Bass is strong though and the sound stage is a nice size. Nothing not to love for the price.

AD700 still in the lead, then?

Note that I'm using the onboard sound card of my Gigabyte P35-DS3L (Sorry I can't be more specific - can't find any information), and no amp.

Thanks a lot ^^

HD555 are very good for gaming... big soundstage, accurate imaging and non-fatiguing.

Actually, I read some comparisons between those too (HD-555 & AD700), and it seems like the latter will fit better here.

But I'm no hp expert - That's exactly why I'm here.
Is there any reason to think otherwise?

Plus, how much 'sound leakage' is there with those open headphones?
One of the reasons I'm going for hps is that I don't want to interrupt anyone while playing or listening to music throughout the night (and day, actually).
Also, some of my VoIP conversations can, quite strongly, wake the whole neighborhood.
No problem with some leakage - But will anything be audible outside my room? (about 4*4 meters)

depends on how loud you listen and how quiet it is
