Hi! I've recently bought Status Audio SM-CB1 but they are too big for my head (I don't mean aesthetically. They fall off my head) and have a low clamping force.
Also the sound is kind of dark. I want to return them and get another smaller pair (size similar to Marshall Major II) with better clamping force and a more goosebumpsy sound (I have no idea how to explain it with proffesional terms. I guess a warmer voice tone without losing the base+clarity).
I've listened in the music store to some 300$ Bose and I was melting away. Someday...someday.

For a moment I lost hope in founding one and I was considering earbuds, even though I got used to the sound of over ear headphones.
So just in case, which of these would have the sound I'd want? Zero audio carbo tenore, brainwavz b100, soundmagic E10, kz zs5/6(you may add others)

Thanks in advance!

I'd recommend the Brainwavz B150 as it has that warmer tone and vocals are great. Pretty decent soundstage, smooth but with good details and SUPER comfy. only thing it's a bit above your budget.

it's better than the E10 (very bassy and muddy), a step above the B100 (which is a bit different sounding as the B100 is a bit more extended up top). Both KZ sets are very bright and quite fatiguing.

Within your budget... Fiio EX1. Great all rounder and much better than the ones you suggest. For me it's on par with the B150, but it has bigger soundstage and is a bit more detailed due to a slightly thinner sound (compared to the b150 that is). Good bass and clear highs. $60

If you are looking for smooth sound tho I'd give it to the B150.

If you don't mind an open back set then these sets from Koss are great.

Koss Porta Pro ($49) Great little headphone. Very well liked. Nice open sound, clear and smooth, nice punchy sub bass.

Koss KTXPRO 1 ($17) Don't let the price fool you in to thinking these are rubbish. They have great sound for the price. Nice and open, smooth with decent soundstage. Good all rounder.

Both are open back though so sound leakage needs to be taken in to consideration. great for home use. i have used the Porta Pro outside though and still enjoyed them and sound still clear due to drivers being very close to your ear.

I've heard about these. I'd prefer closed back/semi closed back since I'm going to use them in public transports. I'm sure for my taste open back are better, but can't have them both :D
Thanks for the suggestions :)

No bother. Then you should def consider both the Fiio EX1 or Brainwavz B150 IMO.

Check out the 1more Dual Driver as well, it's $60 and gets good reviews. You'll probably get a set of warehouse deals on the Triple Driver on Amazon too.

Check out Penon Audio

Hi. Got the koss porta pro and I love them. Great sound for 42 Euros. I've been comparing the headphones of my friends that are about the same price and there's a biiig difference.
Do you think it's worth doing the Kramer mod?
