Hi guys,
 
New to headphones (and this forum), I wanted to run this by you people with more experience:
 
I'm looking for over-ears with a more than decent bass, while they don't leak that much sound. I will be using them on the go a lot, so I don't want fellow passengers to be annoyed. Why would they be annoyed you might ask... this is the second thing: I like bass... a lot. Also, I like a good sound quality overall.
 
Now, to make sure you know what I mean with bass:

Also, I was hoping to spend no more than 150 bucks on this.
 
Is there anyone who can give me a hint on where to look. Also, let's take the Beats and Skullcandy fashion items out of the equation, though I don't want to look ridiculous, if you know what I mean.

One of the Sony XBs is probably what you're looking for.

You might also consider one of the mid range Beyerdynamics.

At $150 it's hard to find good bass without sacrificing the mids usually. Also what is your source and amp?

Out of the cans I've tried, the closest one to what I think you're looking for is the Sennheiser HD 419. It doesn't have the booming bass of the Sony XBs but does kick pretty well while retaining really great sound quality which the XBs do not, IMO. Also, they have a sleek, low-profile closed design that's great for travel. Check 'em out.

This will work quite nicely.

If you want a bass-heavy headphone, get the hifi-580s. The 780s have less bass.
And as said above, the m-audio q40s seem to be recommended a lot for bassheads, and are definitely in your budget.

Shhhhh....I'm trying to lead him to a well balanced sound....not to say that the 780's don't have bass

+1 for Ultrasone HFI-580

+3 on the Sony XB's, XB700 specifically. You can pick them up used pretty cheap and they sound great even with massive quantity of bass... especially when amped. And they are comfy as all get-out. But they get hot quickly from the marshmallow puff pads.
 
Bass literally shook my earlobes inside the cups on those S.O.B.'s
