I'd like good mids and a wide soundstage. my current phones push the mids back too much to my liking.

I'm looking at these:
Headsix
Ibasso T3
Linerossa
IBasso D2

Anything I'm missing?

T3 seems to fit the bill, though I won't worry about the IC given the source you have now.

Actually I think Headsix sounds better than T3, but it is also more neutral and not quite fit your requirement of 'mid oriented'.

I guess t3 it is. How about a mini 3 build? I have soldering experience.

Are you only considering portables?

I recently bought a used Travagans Red for under $150. Is sounds great! Wide frequency range and wide soundstage. It retails around $190 so it may be over your budget if new.

t3d r t3? I'm using iems. I hear that the t3 has better sound quality but my iems will benefit from the digital control.
