I'm looking for a recommendations for an open backed pair of over-ear headphones. Something with similar sound signature to the Koss PortaPros & or the Grado SR80s.

I love both these headphones, only thing is I'm looking for improved comfort & build quality. Budget would be around $150, but I'd consider going higher if you have something you really think I'd like. Will be running them on a Schiit 3 Heresy (if that matters) thanks!

Sounds like Sennheiser HD6xx from Drop would be a great option, sounds generally good, great comfort and great quality (all parts are replaceable)

I don't understand what the OP is asking. Grados and Portapros are on ear, not over ear.

He specifically writes he wants "over ear", so he wants another type of can but with a similar sound signature.

As Porta Pro sounds surprisingly "Hifi" and Sennheiser HD6** is very Hifi it's a solid recommendation.

Interesting, I was kinda looking at those! I also saw the 58x & was wondering which one would fit my preference better. Any thoughts?

Go for HD600 or if budget, go for 58X
