Looking For Headphones $400 And Under

If you have a Best Buy near you with a magnolia attached (most do) then you may be able to hear the Sennheiser Momentum 2 Over ear headphones.  Plenty of bass and they are a closed headphone.  They may also have the Denon AH-D600 which is also a bass strong closed headphone in that price range.  They differ in soundstage and upper end from what I heard, but I'm not experienced enough to speak to the overall quality of either.

Ummm I have a guitar center that's it though

From what I read here they should at least usually have the DT-770, so you can at least make yourself a picture of whether you like the phone or not. And bring your own music if you have a portable source. It makes a huge difference if you can audition with your own music/rig. That way you will not be disappointed later.

Up to $400 for each headphone? or $400 total to spend?

If you have up to $800, I'd recommend the Audeze EL-8 closed over everything on that list by a wide margin, you won't miss open cans if you get them.

Off your list I'd take Mad Dogs and HE-400's, but you'll probably need a better amp than the E7

Why not the Mad Dogs

Just stating that the pm3s have enough bass for me. I use my lcds more at home, but i never feel the bass is lacking baddly with the oppos.
