My budget is between £50-100 (approx. $80-160), I listen to Hip-hop, Rap and R&B 99% of the time and love a good punch of bass. 
I don't have an amp and have no intention of getting one for the time being.
 
The options I am looking at are:
Koss PRO DJ 100
Skullcandy Aviators 2.0
Sony MDR-XB500
Sony MDR-V6
 
I also welcome any other suggestions.

Aurana Live 2s look better but both headphones are at the top of my price range.

You should be able to find the XB-1000's for close to that. They're pretty cool and very comfortable.

I am not sure if it is because I am in the UK but I can't find XB-1000s for less than £180 which is well over my budget.
 
Headphones seem to be less expensive in the US and I don't know why

Check the Takstar thread, HD5500 could be an option...I've been tempted a few times. it's cheap that's for sure.

I'm also a newbie but a basshead friend of mine is all about the TMA-1's.  They're on ear, but the bass is very much emphasized and without too much compromise when the mids and highs are concerned.  they are by no means perfect, they aren't built to perfection and sometimes I think the upper mids are lacking a bit, but you can get them for around $150, they should beat out any skullcandy.  The only reason I didn't spring for them is because of budget reasons.  I wanted a portable amp too

reach your nearest sony center and audition a v55 , if its not enough , get your self an ah-d320 . bass , plenty of bass , and nice mids with manageable highs .
 
i got them for as less as  $65 .

Have you looked at the JVC harx900? I've read nothing but good things about those. I had the 500 model and they were great. I'm probably going to pick up a pair of the 900s unless I find a way to fix my beyers.

Trying the aviator 2.0 and sony today so that will help my decision.
The JVCs could be great, not the best looking headphones but if they sound great then oh well.
