Hi hi
I live in the Memphis, TN area
yknow, the city where everyone's headphones get lost in FedEx's shipping center
and i was wondering if anyone from around here knows about some some shoppes so i can do some headphone browsing in person
Im super-new to this and would love to look at and feel the sets in person (ive got a thing for touching stuff i wanna buy, dont ask)

Wow...the local Magnolia Home Theater near you is now closed...so Best Buy is still one option for a variety of consumer-level headphones. Also, Guitar Center in nearby Bartlett, TN will have many studio-level headphones as well.

If you can drive three house to Nashville, they also have a Magnolia Home Theater in nearby Franklin, TN. Corner Music and Vintage King Audio might have some harder-to-find headphones, but Hi-Fi Buys has a decent selection that you can see on their site:
