Hello all.
I have a pair HE-500s and one of the drivers went out on them. Normally I would just look for another set of HE-500s and swap the drivers out, but the DIY planar headphone thread got me thinking about making my own diaphragms.
It turns out I have access to the tools and equipment needed to make really precise traces, so all I am missing is some fancy mylar.
@Garuspik says that he uses mylar that is 8 micron thick and the metalized layer of aluminum is also 8 micron thick.
To be clear, I have found plenty of metalized mylar, but the layer of aluminum is wayyyyy too thin at around 40nm or 0.04 micron thick.
Does anyone know where I might be able to buy some thick aluminum mylar?
