Hey,

New to the forum. Sorry if its been asked already.

I have the Klipsch x10i earphones and my older model Creative Zen doesnt sound that great with them. When I use the EQ on my computer the x10i sounds like a live performance.

Can anybody recommend a portable media player with an excellent EQ that brings the best out of the x10i?

Also, just to kicks, do any of these players have buttons along with a touch screen?

I wanted to Cowon J3 after the rave reviews but i cant find it anywhere.

Thanks!

What sort of budget are you looking at?

My cheap HP laptop - HP 4410s has better SQ than either my GS3 or my Sansa Clip Zip. A couple of DAP's come with touch screens. I would recommend the Fiio X3 since its rated well here and can be used as an independent DAC with its new s/w upgrade but it doesn't have a touch screen.

Looking at the Fiio X3 now...thanks

I didnt want to go over $300.00

It will be used for music mostly and not videos/pics/online etc.

I know everything is touch screen these days but I would prefer buttons along with it.

You can get X3 from mp4nation bundled with Brainwavz R3 for $200 with free shipping until probably next week. I think the R3 alone are worth about $129.

PurpleAngel,

How do I know that rockbox is installed on the clip zip? The menu looks the same and I can't find any additional functions. The Rockbox utility stated Installation complete.

Thanks.

EDIT: Managed to install already, I didn't change the drive mount to Sansa.

Could not tell you, I never installed Rockbox on my Clip Zip
I switched over from my Clip Zip to a Sony E series..

But it sounds like the Rockbox did not install.

Well if it wasn't discontinued I'd say Cowon J3.
I guess Sansa clip is your best cheap option. Rockbox can also increase the customization.
