Looking for a desktop amp/dac that sounds great and that is strong to power Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250. My budget is $350. Any suggestions?
Assuming this audio setup is for a PC computer, a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z sound card (used $70) would make a decent DAC/amp, for use with the DT990.
I think your spending ($350) too much for driving headphones like the DT990.
Better off selling off the DT990 and putting most of your audio budget for better headphones.
I really like my Beyerdynamic T90 headphones.
Macs (Apple products) usually come with a decent built in DAC function, so maybe just get a Schiit Magni or O2 (Objective 2) headphone amplifer. It’s a iMac. I’m guessing that card won’t work with a Mac? I really like the T-90 too. I’ll get those later down the road.

Hifimediy DAC, something in the $42-$70 range. There is no line out function on my iMac. Not interested in double amping through the headphone port. I’ll keep looking for a decent dac and amp for the 990. Thanks.
