Can headphone drivers change over long periods of time? I don't necessarily mean "burn-in", but I am worried about oxidation and things like that. I've had my hd600's for 6 years now.
My grandpa's old MDR-V6's still work great and by the time I got to them(at least 8 years ago) the pads weren't even identifable as any kind of pleather or leather anymore. I didn't know they were until I got replacement pads. So I'd imagine they had a good number of years on them at that point.
From what I've heard a well taken care of headphone can last decades easily.
