i brought my k1000 to a headphone shop nearby (30min) for a listen. plugged it straight in. it's not even fully warmed up (2 to 3 min of warm up) and i'd say i love the sound more than what my marantz pm6002 gives. smoother, less bright, and it's not that shy on the bass department. those are my initial comments after spending 15 minutes on that machine. they are running on stock tubes. it gives the k1000 the "body" i'm looking for.

i'm quite impressed, to say.

now i just hope my wallet doesn't collapse under the pressure to buy buy buy
