QA tests failed on several units on the lite dac 60. Cattylink.com is offering me a refund. Don't see it for sale anywhere except diyGENE and I aint dealing with them clowns ever again.
Did find this store, anybody deal with them?

Not really - this one was unique and fit the bill perfectly.  And was very well built (I have been told by Audio Engineers that the Lite R-Core transformers are some of the best made).

The seller on ebay told me it would be a 2 month wait for more, that was about 6 weeks ago. I'll keep the cash in my paypal. If anyone is selling a lite dac 60 I'd be interested.

There is the Monarchy NM24 - that adds a pre-amp function - for $1590.
 
For that kinda money I bought the DAC60 and all the parts to do my DIY mods.
 
And the totl Mundorf Supreme Silver/Gold/Oil caps are in a whole other league then those WIMA's Monarchy uses.

Pricemart8.com that I linked earlier has them for $620 with shipping. Take PayPal only so thats a plus, any dealings with them. Dont have 620 in my PayPal so it will take a few days to order, they said 8 working days for the 115v model.

Tempted to order it but I only got $605 in my pay pal and its $620. Going to take a few days to transfer from my bank. Diygene got em in stock but I aint going there again.

Heard from the pricemart8 guy, he said the pcm1704 chips are all fubar basically. Exactly what i heard from cattylink. Gutted. They stopped production on dacs that use the pcm 1704. Here is the email.



I’m sorry to tell you a bad news – the DAC60 was stopped production already. Factory found that the DAC chip 1704 recently have many defects and unstable so they stop production of all the DACs with 1704 chips (DAC38, DAC60, DAC192)! I had removed all the DACs with 1704 chips already and added the DAC68 and will add the DAC39 and DAC72 by tomorrow.

Fubar? Gutted?  What does that mean?
 
Maybe they just can't find anymore of the DAC60's to sell and are doing the old bait and switch.
 
The DAR #1 rated DAC the La Scala MK2 still uses the PCM1704.

Here is what cattlylink stated in an email. TBH they even refunded the $45 bank fee and did not try to sell me anything else.

For your attention, qa tests of Lite DAC60 failed on my established schedule (testing set replaced 2 times not successful too - same problems of excessive interference noise found).
Based on this I have used my authority to request sending the other 4 remaining units of the same batch from the warehouse and concluded that this will be a batch failure, likely due to dac chipset issue.
I will report this as well to Lite engineers and had signed the failure and return reports on this model batch.
Please inform your client accordingly.
