Bong water is nice for ground. For L/R I recommend salted tequila with drop of lemon juice. It would be one of the best listening sessions.

Hmmm would the functionality of this idea be contingent on having an absolutely perfect DC offset? It seems to me that even microvolts of offset would eventually 'use up the juice' in the solution.

Ferrofluid? I'd love to see what happens to ferrofluid while it's around the power cable to our shop welder. Even the metal shavings on the ground collect to the cable while welding.
