Lighted or dark?

Dimly lit, enough so that I can see my surroundings. I have a little desktop lamp that I keep a couple feet away and turned upward so it's not shining on anything in particular. It adds a nice warm glow to the room but not as bright as a regular lamp or overhead light.

Of course I do most of my listening while browsing the internet. If I wanted to just sit down and listen for an hour I'd turn it off.

Preferably dark. I have a dozen tubes running when I listen.

Your room must be very soothing just by a visual aspect alone.

I feel that a dark room takes the music experience to a level of being there. With darkness comes less priority towards the sense of sight and your grip with reality due to this lessens greatly.
