According to lg it does, in "normal" device mode 3 of them ate turned off. In high impedance mode all 4 are on.

Hg avnt head anything about aux mode though
Can you post the link or article which states this? I have seen people post similar statements but have not seen the actual statement from LG in writing. Would help clear up conflicting information. Thanks.

Umm, could you link to your source for that information? I believe you are actually refering to when it is in HiFi mode vs Standard.

@Dellwolf You mentioned powering your DT990 600ohm headphones with the V20 at a reasonable volume, which is incredible. I'm actually looking into getting DT990's myself, for pairing with the V20 as well.

1) Should I go for the 250 ohm DT990 for the V20, or is the 600ohm still a good choice?
2) What volume level are you at for your personal listening? Have you ever found yourself wanting to increase the volume, but couldn't?

Thanks!
For my personal taste I believe that my DT990 600ohm and my LG V20 pair really good together, the treble is smoother(it's known to be peaky and bright) than from what I have experienced out of a lot of other amps. I would always have the urge to EQ them, which I hate doing, but no urge to do so out of my V20. It's a fully open headphone, so I would expect that you would be wanting to listening primarily in a quite room, like how I do at home with my DT990's. I normally have the volume between 60-75(max) and for the types of music I listen to that's perfect and I don't feel a need for more, I mostly listen to EDM, so your use may vary and you may need more or less volume. I've never listened to the 250ohm version so I can't really speak to that, I think the 600ohm version is a safe bet, but that's your choice to make.

I think LG has mentioned that if you are playing back hi res files the quad dac kicks in whether you are in normal mode or not.

Does anyone have a recomendation for a closed headphone suitable for portable use with a similar sound signature to my PM-3's. I find the V20 doesn't really drive the PM-3's well enough( volume wise) in normal mode. I love the Oppo's but I would prefer a different set of cans as opposed to using " the trick".

i dunno if this question has been asked before, but does V20 has better SQ than any mid-fi DAP(fiio x3ii, lotoo paw5k, cayin n3..etc)

one device for all my needs sounds compelling

also..anyone tried it in car(aux in)?

would appreciate any info

I currently have the Fiio X5 gen 3 tour unit and I personally prefer the sound of my LG V20. But having a dedicated device for music is nice. I haven't been able to listen to it balanced other than when I was at Canjam NYC.

i owned V20 before, and i tried x5, and i owned x1a. in my own personal opinion:

x1a > v20 > x5

x1a > v20 > x5

Spec looks nice on the X1A . Both onkyo , X20 used sabre ESS dac , amp .
Very tempting to do a A/B direct comparison on both to find out what are the most noticeable difference in terms of audio dynamics on both device

Anyone compare the sound quality LGV20 vs HTC10? If so which one is more transparent and more resolving with good bass definition,,through both the headphone output and also USB audio output? I am looking for a good all in one source for my mojo DAC/home system and also mobile use.
