For those wanting best sound install blackplayer, go into settings select equalizer and set the amp on to about 365mDB
Enjoy the sound. The default music player is garbage.
You need to use the amplifier but only certain apps can access it.

mine for sale in the f/s section
Hello friends. I plan on getting the quad dac variant h870ds(has qdac) of the g6 this fall. I am hoping it could meet my need as a phone and as a superb hifi audio player. How does the quad dac version of the g6 compare to the v20 in sound?, can it be pit against a decent dac?, does it compare to a mojo. On the previous pages I read how its inferior in terms of immersion and bass compared to the v20, is this the case?, does it really nullify bass and how much should i be worried about this?. I Plan on snatching it along with an IE800, or better yet i might blow that college savings and go for the prophile-8. both iem are heavily reliant on a good source for good performance, can the g6 answer this prayer?.

Hi there, I also ordered the quad dac DS variant. I expect to get it next week. I'll post some impressions here.
I will compare to what I remember from my dead LG V10 and my current LG G5 with B&O Hifi module. My beast earphones are Sony N3AP IEM.
I want something good but I just don't want to spend hundreds of euros of the modern DAP's with Android, if we can get a very decent quality from the DAC's included in some LG phones.
Fingers crossed.

Still cant decide between the G6 and the HTC 10. These two are very similar in price in my country.
I've also read the HTC 10 thread here, hence the difficult decision.
I am a guy who prefers a neutral and balanced sound with a bit of warmth (think of the mojo). Not a bass head so its not quite important to me, prefer the quality of it rather than quantity. But I do still want some bass...
I do love the mids, so this is the most important one between all three freq spectrums.
Which one should I get guys?

@Aradea Hi... The HTC10 is a seriously great sounding phone. All depends though with regarding type of music files been used and headphones as in any Phone / Dap. Straight out of the box and using supplied headphones its kind of warm but has great detail retrieval. Amp is loud enough without the need for an external one.

My daily IEM is the Noble Savant and since it is not known for its warmth (especially the bass quantity), I am looking for a bit warm source@Aradea Hi... Actually I think V20 can be a good combination with savant if you can trick the external mode by using adapter. V20's external mode does improve bass area.
