Looking forward to hearing about it! The s12 pro has been my fave IEM so far but I’ve only tried about 6 and they were all $600 or under so I’m curious about the s15I will but need time...

What cable is that? A 0.78 2 pin IEM connection to a full 4 pin XLR?
Flawed in the lower treble but the best we have right now...until then, Final E's, a warm source and a lot of power helps balance the tonality.
Anyone compare s12 pro to s15 yet?
S15 is more laid back and thicker in note weight, with a more natural timbre. Chiller in the upper mids/treble than the S12 Pro.
Soundstage/imaging is better on S15, though S12 Pro is more aggressive in edge definition. S12 Pro is more V-shaped and depressed in the mids, but can be more fatiguing in the upper mids/treble.
We are talking about massive diminishing returns though, going from the S12 Pro to the S15, it is not 3x better as the price would suggest.

Fit is a bit of a your mileage may vary kind of situation due to our different ear anatomy, but personally I find the S15 fits better.

Take note: Not all S12 (anything) are the same. Some are Far far better than others. These god damn drivers are too variable

Whose fault is that, you reckon? The driver manufacturer or Letshuoer who assembles the IEM?Take note: Not all S12 (anything) are the same. Some are Far far better than others. These god damn drivers are too variable

Its %90 the driver manufacture. Ive checked about 60. I currently have 8 that i cant resell because they are just horrible and cant really be tuned to anything resonable.

That's a shame there's so much variation with the driver quality. I just got a Glamdring on trade today, and holy hell it's spectacular. I guess this set has a decent pair of drivers.
Are there any other planar IEMs which you could work similar mods on, and achieve same or better results?

Cool man!! We have chatted a bit. There are no other drivers that have the bandwidth of these planars. I mean from 20hz to 20k... these go up to around 16k with plenty of energy. There are 3 versions, the last one is in the S15 and maybe the MP145. IMO the best versions are the few 2nd gen drivers that happened to be excellent. 3rd gen drivers don't have a lot of high mids and low treble.. and this is easier to tune but they don't scale as far. Ive played with the driver in the MiM Dark Magician which is cool but has similar issues.. bad q/a. Currently im playing with the Letshuoer D13 13mm massively strong DD driver. It's fun but probably not going to scale to TOTL territory. That's a shame there's so much variation with the driver quality. I just got a Glamdring on trade today, and holy hell it's spectacular. Oh sure. If you get lucky the 12 Pro might win over the S15.. but in general the S15 will be more to peoples tastes. More high mids and treble on pro. Also the Pros have better bass imo.Anyone compare s12 pro to s15 yet?

Very interesting about the bandwidth of the S12 pro driver... Assuming you've got a solid pair on hand I guess. One of the things I'm most surprised about with the Glamdring is the quantity / quality of the lows. It's just insane how much pressure the drivers can generate, and with ridiculous cleanness. I just listened to "Poem Of Chinese Drum" on youtube, and needless to say it was crazy impressive on the Glamdring. This set is gonna be my daily IEM for a good while I think.

Anybody has experienced planar IEMs (S12 Pro, S15) vs planar heapdhones (HiFiMan Edition XS)? What are the main differences? Tempted to try the planar sound but don't know where to start. 329 USD for Edition XS, same price for the S15. Thanks in advance!
S12PRO vs HE1000Stealth and HE400SE(modded) here:
S12PRO has more impactful bass, greater dynamics. The Hifiman's have better and more resolving treble, larger soundstage and greater separation.

They really don't compare IMO, I prefer planar to dynamics in headphones. Now that the back venting on the driver was solved for the S12/Timeless, planar IEMs seem to be better at getting coherent sound like a really articulate DD IEM.Anybody has experienced planar IEMs (S12 Pro, S15) vs planar heapdhones (HiFiMan Edition XS)?
