I pegged you for Decon for sure. Really, Vader? It is their best effort to date no doubt.

Yep, I just enjoy the hell out of that album, I've had it on constant repeat as of late. It may not be as impressive from a technical standpoint as say Omnivium, but I'm bored with technical death metal, and the Vomitory release just didn't do it for me. It's the same with Skeletonwitch and Revocation vs. Vektor and Havok for me. I'd just much rather listen to the former. As for top albums of all time, I just don't think I can do it, that's too hard. I can list my disappointments for this year though.

2011 Letdowns:
Arch Enemy - Khaos Legions
Children of Bodom - Blah Blah Blah
Samael - Lux Mundi
Megadeth - 13
Nightrage - Insidious
Devin Townsend - Unplugged

What:
Norther - Circle Regenerated
Angela Gossow lists Morbid Angel as one of her best of the year, in a possibly non-ironic way

With all these best-of-2011 lists floating around, might I suggest Top 5-of-all-time lists? I'm still waiting on some of the albums you guys recommended, and I'm really curious to hear what your favourite pieces are and see if there's something else I haven't heard that's worth getting.

In no particular order, five of the albums that had a great influence on my life:

Type O Negative "October Rust"

Swartalf "The Golden Section"

Limbonic Art "In Abhorrence Dementia"

Cradle of Filth "Dusk... and her Embrace"

Coil "Musick to play in the Dark vol.1"

5 is way too little though, these are mostly from my youth, shaping my current taste in music. There have been numerous albums that have had a profound impact on me.

Couldn't find either it or 'Still Life' on vinyl through any of my usual channels in Sweden.
