It seems that nobody in this thread has yet to mention We Came as Romans, who I think do a great job of combining clean vocals with gritty vocals, as well as fuse different instruments into their music. They are a lesser known band from Troy, Michigan who is just starting out, if you want to check them out, I would recommend "We Are The Reasons"

I would highly recommend a radio show on my old college (University of Vermont) radio station, WRUV, called Mind over Metal. It's on every Friday from noon until 2:00PM EST.

DaveBSC, have you seen the Finnish Metal Tour yet?  I'm going tomorrow in Edmonton and can't wait!  I was just checking out Barren Ground's myspace, and they sound really good despite third billing.  I've seen Finntroll and Ensiferum before, and they both deliver the goods.  Woo!

i have really been enjoying ukon wacka. korpiklaani keeps producing gold every year. how the heck do they do it.
