I really hope they release a new album soon, next year maybe.

So, who's into Ghost Bath? I just saw them live in San Francisco. Wicked cool, small venue. Maybe 30 people there tops. There were no changing rooms or backstage area, so the bands just hung out with their gear everywhere. I showed up early and got to talk and share a beer with most of the members of all 3 bands - He Whose Ox is Gored, Underling, and Ghost Bath.

Really looking forward to seeing them in NYC in September. Golden Number is among top 2015 songs in my books, ridiculously epic.

Killer line-up btw, HWOiG especially is spectacular and doing their own thing without parallels.

  Speaking of In Flames: http://www.angrymetalguy.com/yer-metal-olde-flames-jester-race/

AMG's Yer Metal is Olde! series is well worth diving into.

I don't care much for reviews in general, and that one was no exception.

Here are some reviews I do like, though:

http://www.deathmetal.org/bands/averse_sefira/
http://www.deathmetal.org/bands/summoning/

My favorite tracks on The Jester Race are "Dead Eternity" and "December Flower".

Fun fact: Jesper reportedly composed the guitar solo on "December Flower" but had someone else perform it.

I associate In Flames' earlier albums with video game consoles due to the change in production, composition, and cover art. lol

Lunar Strain: Nintendo
The Jester Race: Super Nintendo
Whoracle: Nintendo 64
Colony: PlayStation

Has anyone heard the band All Ends? Can't believe I haven't yet. Jesper and Björn used to play guitars in it.

Here are their three releases, not counting the demo. I'm gonna track 'em down in higher quality, so I won't listen until later.

Welcome To Hel. (Bonus track from Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού.)

New compilation coming soon featuring their oldest material:
http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Rotting_Christ/Old_Coffin%27s_Tapes/593021

Thy Mighty Contract (November 11, 1993, Osmose)
Non Serviam (October 10, 1994, Unisound)
Triarchy of the Lost Lovers (August 20, 1996, Century Media)
A Dead Poem (October 7, 1997, Century Media)
Sleep of the Angels (March 9, 1999, Century Media)
Khronos (August 29, 2000, Century Media)
Genesis (October 29, 2002, Century Media)
Sanctus Diavolos (September 20, 2004, Century Media)
Theogonia (February 6, 2007, Season of Mist)
Aealo (February 15, 2010, Season of Mist)
Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού (March 1, 2013, Season of Mist)
Rituals (February 12, 2016, Season of Mist)

Many of us here were dumbfounded with the 07 release, to be fully blown away with 2010s and I was there. Though I have to admit not being that schooled on the older stuff. That said I do fully get into 1996s release Triarchy Of Lost Lovers.

I had a hard time with his voice though, which may be the #1 reason?

What's with the randomly listing discographies?

What? I thought Theogonia was one of their greatest albums! Didn't like Aealo half as much. Sanctus Diavolos will always be my favorite.

The discographies? To jog memories.

Done that mainly for bands which I know all that they have recorded. RC was one of those bands that was hard for me to get into so I only know three records from them. They may have been important to some in the early days of Black Metal?

Some here actually like both Aealo and Theogonia the same. Don't know if you purchased the special edition CD as it has a DVD with them making the record. Pretty cool to feel how excited they were. I like Theogonia as it is a musically big production with a ton of imagination and production, different than you normally find in the genre? IMO

Oh dude, you gotta hear their discography! They're one of my top ten black metal bands. (Though they mix in other genres.) I don't like their earlier material nearly as much.

I almost always get the limited editions, so yeah, I have the CD/DVD versions of both of those. I actually got Aealo for just a dollar brand new from Amazon!

just tried a few of Insomnium songs yesterday, man, they are quite good, especially if you like melodic death like me ^_^

Hey, did you know that Melodic Deathmetal is @Music Alchemist's favorite genre?
