This album contains the orginal recording of the band's second album from 1995 with the The Prinicple of Evil Made Flesh-lineup. Since the band did not like the result and the relationship with their then label (Cacophonous Records) got bad, they decided to not release it. Some members left Cradle of Filth to form The Blood Divine, while the rest plus new members recorded V empire... or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein, that was released instead of Dusk... and her Embrace via Cacophonous Records. In 1996 Music for Nations released the re-recorded version of Dusk... and her Embrace with the new lineup.
The Prinicple of Evil Made Flesh is really the only album that COF made that sounds close to original Black Metal. So maybe this album will sound different than the famous DAHE we all know and love?
DAHE has been the most recomended COF album on this thread. For years folks would come here asking about which COF album to listen to first, and that was recomended. Now to find out there is an early edition should be a fun listen. Though I normally like to have which ever edition I'm used to be "The Edition".

I have a Russian original CD of that EP, it's the only edition I have ever heard so I don't know how it compares to other prints. But even at the time of release it was slightly different and special. It's essential and classic. IMO
Profound, direct, classic and wonderful would be words for it.
Agalloch, Amorphis, Borknagar, Folkearth, and Korpiklaani are a few worth checking out.
And a lot more:

The accordion solo in this track is hilarious!
Kroda is one of my favorite folk black metal bands. Here are a few highlight tracks.
Not necessarily pure folk metal - atmospheric celtic (black) metal might be more accurate - but Saor's Aura is majestic, epic and massive: saor.bandcamp.com/album/aura
