I loved this band back when I started listening to Metal.
But now they are just super boring and plasticy sounding to me.
I guess you really do "grow out" of certain bands.
Hammerfall is another good example :/

Same here, when I first heard Equilibrium, their colorful, heroic melodies quickly grabbed me, but it didn't leave a lasting impression as the days went on. They're alot like candy to me.

Have you guys heard Panopticon's latest new track? Sounds great, like a combination of his more recent post-rock melodic works and his black metal sensibilities from his earlier albums. I'm more excited for this than I was for Kentucky.

I listened to the whole album multiple times and I like it a lot more than Kentucky.
It's a bit more.....approachable.

Haven't seen that  name in quite a while!

As I think about it, heavymetal.about.com has actually introduced me to alot of metal. 2008, Sagas was touted by them and I bought that disc. I thought it was pretty good-but has limited appeal. But, I remember thinking a pretty good big bombastic symphonic, folk metal release. Pretty epic sounding, intersting arrangements.

I can imagine they got a little formulaic.

The alternative mix of in the Nightside Eclipse sounds mighty fine :)
Better than the regular one, if you ask me.

Any metalheads among us own the AK120, or any A&K model for that matter?

I am wondering if its warmth wod not lend itself well to metal.
