Lets Talk Metal

The great part is they have waited. They just didn't come out with record number two. First release metal records which are epic do get surpassed but the first record always has more personality. Look at Black Sabbath's 2nd record. Look at Van Halen's 2nd record.

That was the thing, they were an unknown but had this killer production quality better than what was standard. They were old-school and new at the same time.
Hopefully they will stay the same style. The charm was that it was their first record. The cover was a tribute to Death Metal past with a Dan Seagrave style painting saying this is where were from. But ya, your worried just because you think they can't better themselves. If it sucks we still have the first record, I never get tired of it.

Maybe a bit, yeah. How do you surpass a perfect record..?

I can't wait to hear them try though... And yeah, no matter what, I'd be perfectly happy listening to 'The Aura' for the rest of my life.  :)

Comeon!!!!!!  I have Lot of expectations on this album.. Lotttttttttttttttttt offfffffffffffffffff... It would be a masterpiece.

Me too! It should be a masterpiece. I don't think I'd ever get over the disappointment if it isn't.. :)

I really believe in this canadian cohort. Phillipe Boucher and Dominic Lapointe both come from amazing bands and have proven that they can write some great songs paired with awesome chops.

I looked them up on Metal Archives (no idea why I never did that before...) and the only other band I know is Augury - which is indeed amazing.

I'll have check out their other stuff too. Thanks!

Is this China's answer to Night Wish?  I don't think Tarja has anything to be worried about. That was actually rather amusing.

picked up the new Behemoth based on Redcar's unique review.  i've never been a big fan of the band, even after a single listen i can safely say this is my favorite Behemoth record...it flows really well and there are some great standout tracks!   good pick 'Moose...

Ha, many reviewers are saying they never liked Behemoth before, but do now. I never knew they were so unpopular before.

Damn, looks like I might check the album out as well. Never been a Behemoth fan either (actually, debated whether to see them live with THAW and Obscure Sphinx, but didn't have money and I was more interested in the supports that I could see for half the price if they played with some other band. I've heard Behemoth plays great shows anyway, but still it all came down to finances).

I'm not 100% happy with it either.

Even though I am not a Focus fan. I like Traced in Air and Carbon based anatomy more. But its not bad either..

Yop, pretty extreme.
Just listened to the album on Bandcamp...the music is cool but the sound....oh boy.

Has anyone else here taken this Golden Ears test from Philips?
