I didn't think it was that bad. I'm excited for The New Black, Alien, and City.

BOB definitely blew it with the DT LPs but I still like having some of them. Then again I have some other BOB LPs that absolutely rock.

Epicloud? Honestly I thought the sound on that album stunk. Most DT albums don't sound that great TBH (the early ones are especially bad) but I do like Alien quite a bit and I'm curious about that. The rest of the SYL albums I never cared for that much. Alien was originally released on VERY limited 10" vinyl, Discogs has one mint for $100.

I'm a lot more interested in the new Century Media pressing of Terria, which has always been a personal favorite (Olives, Mountain, Earth Day, Canada, all fantastic). Sadly BOB blew it with the newer DT vinyl. I would've loved to have a good vinyl press of Ziltoid, but it's not to be.

What's sad is we offered BOB an interview so clarify a few things....silence...

That is really unfortunate. It's just so weird how greatly they vary in quality. It makes sense, but it makes it hard to buy their releases.

For instance. NIN's The Downward Spiral is on BOB and it sounds amazing. I just listened to it again yesterday.

And of course on the other side of the spectrum:

So after listening to all those comments.....I don't have high hopes. (they are a really good live band though, I give them that)

What's funny is Redcarmoose's lovely list up there got me to think about maybe my favorite MDM band of all time, Dark Tranquillity.

I am excited.

Of course you reminded me of the album!

This track all by itself is what got me into MDM. This whole album is wonderful. Damage Done is a close second.

As for In Flames, I pretty much enjoy everything they've done. Some of it a bit hit or miss, but I'd listen to any of it. Kinda the same with DT. Hype for the new stuff. Here's hoping we get a real vinyl release...

Yeah-I think Damage Done is one of the best releases in the MDM said genre...though I confess to listening to a limited amount of In Flames. Great sound..always enjoy those intelligent existential lyrics as well.

Character (2005) is the only DT CD I actually own. I don't know what that makes me? I am looking forward to the new album.

I'm not a hardcore fan, I think Character and Damage Done are pretty much equal in quality. After that, I thought they sounded a little rehashed.

That's my favorite...I'd get Damage Done as well though. Those are the 2 you should absolutely own.

Here's some Metal records..................

It was about $160 in 98 when I purchased it not $960.

WOAH WOAH WOAH. SO THIS NEW CLASSIC WAX...

Did you just find a good sounding picture disc? :)

EDIT: Also, everyone buy this.

Dir En Grey - Dum Spiro Spero

It's only $11 (http://www.theomegaorder.com/DIR-EN-GREY-Dum-Spiro-Spero-2LP) and it sounds excellent. It's a bit bassy in my room right now, but the drums are super punchy and it's just a great freakin' album. If you don't have a TT the CD is $4.
