hey thanks man. you heard the new Dying Fetus, High on Fire, 16, Six Feet Under, Kreator or Gojira? All really good new albums.

Out of that group I am only not familiar with "16".......Never really liked Six Feet Under as kind of a parody of death metal, but the new one is really good as far as guitar goes. Dying Fetus has to be one of the most imaginative, great sounding and just all around killer releases of the year in my book. I have really loved Kreator for awhile and I think their new one is fantastic! I'm maybe not into the Gojira sound  but it's something I will work on. Glad you like it!

I have actually been spending my listening time with Extreme Noise Terror trying to understand the D-beat and how it was a variation of Motorhead and morphed into Grindcore becoming the seed of both Grindcore and Trash. A great album to hear our music's Genesis even though it was released in 92 and not 86.

I prefer this album with Cannibal Corpse playing at the exact same time on my other speakers. Creates a really interesting blend. It sounds even better with just Cannibal Corpse on.

Speaking of Cannibal Corpse, anyone else going to Summer Slaughter? Going to the 25th date at the Grove of Anaheim as I, Of Helix will be playing there and they'll be able to hook my group of with cheap tickets.

I used to live almost walking distance to the Grove. You can always stop by the California Pizza Kitchen near by before the show. I'll never again eat at the Panda Express across the street..........crap! Actually there are more places to eat than ever near there. You can always go to the Block Of Orange and drink beers at the Alcatraz Brewing Company!

Red: I will check out ENT. It sounds interesting. I love stuff like that. Seeing how music progressed and who bit off of who's influences.

john in cali: I plan on hitting the tour at Atlanta or Knoxville. I have seen most of these bands before. I really wanna see Goatwhore again and have never seen Periphery. I have a Periphery album and would like to see them live. Of course the Corpse is always a hoot even without Chris Barnes.

That's for the vinyl press. Here's the CD. It's fairly dynamic (DR8), but every track except for Indian Curse hits 0dBFS and clips. It's not too bad though, only a few spots on each track. It took me awhile to warm up to this album. At first I thought it was nowhere near as good as their last one, but after having listened to it a bunch of times I've started to appreciate it a lot more.

My sensei strikes again.
To appease my BM Overlord:

Arckanum is such an interesting band. On first listen they're traditional second wave bm with some thrash influences, but when you listen to more of his material you get this pagan, northern heritage vibe that feels so very authentic and honest. I always loved the Arckanum bandphotos as well. The photos have that same authenticity. I remember looking through metal magazines when I was still a teenager and always stopping at the Arckanum pics to wonder.
