Challenge, especially for @Dim666: pick what you consider to be the most purely evil black metal album. I'm gonna make my pick later today.
Next step a Top for the best atmospheric BM album. :metal:....

Speaking of atmo black...

Amor Fati carries some of my current favorites - Ringarë, Voidsphere, Evilfeast and Hwwauoch to name a few!

I love black metal but find myself out of love with lo-fi stuff... There are also plenty well-produced black metal albums out there, so I'll live.. :)

I’ve had an original CD of The Bleeding since around 2000-2003 (not sure) but I never liked it? Then I saw a bunch recommending it after the last C.C. release? So, I have to say, I got ahold of the 2006 remaster, and.......it is amazing! Just unexpected really, perfect recording and (of course) their signature sound, better than earlier stuff with Chris Barns? His very last album with C.C.

This is a perfect review of the album. https://www.metal-archives.com/reviews/Cannibal_Corpse/The_Bleeding/771/Acrobat/115569

Hey, what happened to the Metal-Fi threads? Is that gone?

Incredibly powerful and emotional album (as most of his releases are). Not my favorite mix but absolutely worth a listen regardless.

I started listening to it a few days ago but quit after a few songs due to the production. Will try again later with a more forgiving headphone. I really liked the previous one.

Yeah, even with the Nio's it's a bit rough to get through. I'm not sure if the mix is by design or just how it ended up but it's not great, unfortunately.
