I am very interested in knowing how the SRH840 stack up against the M-Audio Q40. I may be "upgrading" in the semi-near future, so I would very much appreciate the opinion of anyone who has heard both.

Just wanted to let people know B&H has the 840's for only $160. B&H are Shure authorized retailers also.

Darn it, the price went up

. Hmmm 1k post, it's a sign, I must get these. Hopefully the street prices drop down a bit; @ $200, I think I'm inching towards consumer Beyers.

Don't let the price fool you brn80... right out of the box these are sounding excellent and I already like them more than what I remember of my old DT880s. I assume that with burn in they will only get better.

The build quality is excellent too, they are pretty heavy and feel very robust. My DT770 feel flimsy compared to the Shures.

Me too .. I made a post in NCIX's Product Request to try to get some attention. It would be great if they would start carrying Shure products.

I am waiting for these vs the ESW9, although from reading reviews they seem to be about equal.

Or the M50 for that matter, which I've been planning to buy.
