True- but even those threads seem to have lost traction over the last couple of years. It seems that as long as there are upgrades happening then there is a lot to post about but for those that aren’t continually moving up the model chain it goes a little quiet.

Maybe most of us are just happy with what we have now while I’m curious about the pacific or horizon, the golden Atlantic trp3 has been just about everything I wanted and doesn’t lack anything significant for me.

I agree with you there. I have so many options with the TRP that I really won’t be running out of new things to experience anytime soon. Now having the ability to use tubes with different filament voltages has been nice as well.
While I’ve looked at the other DHT models I haven’t spent any time with them (Pacific, GG or Big 7) so I really can’t comment on the differences in sound quality. I also haven’t had the urge to go down that path because of the need for acquiring even more expensive tubes. I suppose though if a “deal of the century” were to present itself I may have to reconsider.
I have heard the Poseidon on a couple of occasions now though I wished it had been under better circumstances. Audio shows aren’t really the place to gather the fine details that would help discern the real differences and what I’ve heard so far wasn’t equivalent to night and day.
Yeah, honestly I likely wouldn’t upgrade unless I somehow managed to convince myself I can afford a Horizon haha. Though, I have done a lot of reading of Aries Cerat dacs as well, they seem nice, but without the ability to audition these in my own system, it feels like it would be a hard decision to make. Likely will stick with Lampizator.
Once you hear Horizon in comparison to say their Pacific... you probably know where I'm going with this
Horizon and H360 are special snowflakes. Pentodes in output stages of these two DACs allow them to do certain things other Lampizators can't, including DHT DACs. And there's a metric ton of cheap old pentodes to try out and have fun. Good DHTs on the oter hand are very expensive.
I don't think this thread gets much action overall because Lampis are more rare in terms of ownership. Generally I've found this thread to be helpful, but you'll see a lot more helpful info on the what's best forum.
