LAMPIZATOR THREAD COMMENTS REVIEWS TUNING

Yoga if you cannot hear the difference in the tubes the system is not transparent. Going form one tube to another it's obvious
But the 6a3 and 101d are high details but different as the 101d is the most detailed of any tube I tried to date.
Post again your system chain and whAt tubes maybe I am missing something Also there is a SW on the back up is 45 and down is everything else
But 6A3 can be used both ways

Mac (Aurdivana+)
iFi iPower + Gemini USB
VLINK 192 SPDIF
Conductor (as DAC)
Abyss

Macbook (A+)
Scala MKII (USB)
Conductor
Abyss

Both the iPower and VLINK get excellent reviews. Neither are spoken of as colouring sound.

Going forward try to take the Conductor out the chain altogether.  Eliminate any possibility of the Conductor playing any roll in the sound.

That's my intention. I'll A/B the Conductor vs the Lampi + 430 :¬)

Oh I inderstand now. The lampi will smoke that stuff.
I thought you did not hear tube rolling with the lampi sorry for my confusion. Sometimes stuff sounds very much the same and this precludes lack of transparency. That was my point but it could be the devices just sound the same. The ifi helps I had one a while back. It helps ewhennits. Needed meaning no harm if it's not. Laptops inherently do not give you good or the best performance. A desktop does better but run it at full no power shaver anything and dc no power supply this is your best setting.
Audivana is good stuff inuse it with my iMac and get good sound from it. In digital audio the computer type and all with it matter plenty

I'll likely be getting a network player if I decide to go with the Lampi, circumvents potential USB and computer issues.

Still, even connected to a laptop, I expect (and hope) to be blown away by the Lampi + 430 :¬)

And yes you will. Pcm is fine its dsd that really needs the power
So hirez pcm will wow you out of the box.
Again through try to by some 300 B ps vanes the we300b. Even used is fine. I think the paring with the abyss will be best.

If you're looking for the best amp to go with Abyss, the Wells Audio Head trip might be your answer. Uber-powerful and developed with Abyss in mind apparently. Jeff Wells says it's a monster amp. I have one on order but intend to pair with my B7 and HD800.

I had been reading about the HeadTrip.

Annoyingly, all the best HP amps are made the U.S.

Buying from the UK/EU means paying way over the odds.

Yep Headtrip is powerful. In the HD800 critical range it's 1.8W into 600 ohms which is significantly higher than competitors. But power is not all, the sonic flavour is based heavily on Wells Signature speaker amp which by all accounts sounds out of this world.

$7k at TheCableCompany ... careful about their return policy, as always read the fineprint
