I have interest in getting a pair of these, but isn't this about $1,300 more than these normally sell for?

Opinions, L3000 owners?

Thanks.

I missed that - thanks. I guess $3,800 is a bit high, but not as insane as I thought. I also guess I will have to keep thinking, and not buying

Have you searched on Kuboten Rob? From what I have heard, Craig is doing a lot of good things on that site and I've seen L3K's fairly consistently when I browse ('course, I only go on there once every few months...).

the L3000 routinely sold for $2400-2600 right up until a few months ago (and i would say a few months before that they were even a $100-200 cheaper). then one pair was listed for and sold for well over $3K. since then L3000 owners have understandably been coming out of the woodwork to list their pair and take advantage of the inflated values while they hold.

i would wait. the price of this thing will come down.

Thanks, vcoheda - that is EXACTLY the kind of information I was looking for.

So true, sadly we due to our addiction fuel the higher prices. Not criticizen because I can understand the need ...

there is currently a pair in the FS section, with all the original goodies, for $2900 - this seems more realistic

$2900 still seems high to me for an L3000, although it's more in the ballpark than the others that have recently sold. there is also a PS1 being offered for $2400. that seems like a fair price, but the stock cable has been reterminated and that is a big strike for OOP collectible headphones, so that price may be off as well. i also see an HP2 with box and original cable for $1500. that seems to be the best of the bunch, although in this economy and with all the hype (most justified, imo) around the HD800, that item may sit there for a while.

Well I'm no longer interested - the new high-end Beyers just became available for sale today, so that is where my money is going
