Just a heads up to all UK friends, Mr Ito-san from Kumitate Lab will be at the Indulgence Show in London next week showcasing the Kumitate Lab models as well as the beautiful Raden『螺鈿"KumitateK"』 designs outside of Asia-Pacific for the first time!

DIdn't know this thread existed - here's a photo of my Sirius I got last November and have been using pretty much daily since. Went into the purchase blind, which may have been a bad idea but 3 months in I still have 0 regrets about this purchase :)

This thread is indeed very quiet, I think mostly because so little is known about Kumitate Lab outside Asia. I was lucky enough to catch them at the Indulgence Show in London last year, but only had time to demo the Lakh and admire the beautiful designs.

Will they accept orders from overseas, or do you have to physically be in Japan to get them?
They accept overseas orders, you just lose out on the option to get Raden designs (which are super limited even for people in Japan). I think they're growing in popularity though, stuff like the Corona/Meteo/Sirius/Ref/Lakh is almost always listed as out of stock on their site. They usually announce restocks on Twitter but they sell out super fast again, I assume to keep the workload manageable for himself.

Excellent info--thanks very kindly! I'm assuming the shells with the cherry blossoms would fall under the Raden designs umbrella? Gosh, those are gorgeous...

Yup, and they're all made by Itou himself, which is why supply is so limited. I got my Sirius in about a month but afaik someone who ordered a Raden design before me has not yet received theirs.

Can someone give me a rundown of the Kumitate KL-REF Type-S vs normal? In greater specifics I hope, apart from the typical "female vocals are sweeter".

KL-REF has a prob with male and female vocals on tracks with a strong bass guitar or kick drum. The KL KANNON however had no such issue. Dynamic driver is getting in the way of mid BA it seems and that is with no EQ. It could not compete with my EX1000 so listened really close to it and KANNON and that set was a lot more resolving than REF and it was maybe cheaper iirc?

Tracks used

Gold dust Woman
Takin; it to the Streets
Us and Them
Ambitionz az a Ridah

anyone able to give a comparison between the REF and the Sirius?
I can't say I've heard the Ref, but the Sirius has some of the best vocals that I've ever heard in an IEM. I think it beats out my previous favorite, the Fitear TG! 334 for vocals. There's a reason why the Sirius is always sold out. In fact, they opened pre-ordering for the Sirius since orders are gone as soon as they are available.

I'm hoping to snatch either the Ref Type-S or the Lakh next when they open up orders for them next.

thats great to hear! do post some comparisons / impressions if you manage to get the Ref cause I'm interested in these 2 IEMs but this brand isn't available anywhere near me for me to try it out.
