I have the latest ESP-950 headphones and I do enjoy them a lot. I have had them since about 1993 when they first came out. What I would like to find out is about the previous versions.
I have read about and seen ESP-6, ESP-7,ESP-9 (and B), and ESP-10 headphone systems. I know they all have their own energizer boxes, related to each model.
First, with ESP-6, they have a 1/4 inch jack, can these be run in a regular headphone amp?
All of them seem to be closed back, not so sure about the ESP-10 version, any one owning these, can they seal out sound leakage?
On properly restored ones, how is the frequency response?
Are they really electrostatic? Or are they electrit?
What kind of amp's play well with any of these models? How much power do they need?
Will any of them work with Stax amps (not sure the ESP-6 can)?
Was there any before the ESP-6?
I understand that the ESP-6 is very heavy due to the transformers being in the headphones, how about the others?

The reason I ask, is that I have been toying with the idea of getting a pair of the vintage Koss ESP's. Then to be fair, I have also toyed with the thought of getting the Monoprice Electrostatics, and building an adapter to run them on a Stax amp.
