Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

Hullo. Been away awhile.

Reporting in from down under to let everyone know my AS16 pros have died. Both earpieces have died a bass death. That is, no bass, just distortion in the nether regions. Have no idea how it happened to both. I did drop one earphone on a hard surface from about 30cm this morning. Anyway, not dwelling on it. Curious all the same.

So, I have been happy with my IEMs, but I am after a similar sound and detail to the ASX or the ASF which I absolutely love. No treble peak. Lots of detailed bass and details all around. Is there anything around like that these days? Type C connector is important for my AZ09pros and cables. Like the sound of pure BA for the BA bass.

Thanks heaps in advance for any responses.

FLO Audio BlueLover is worth a look if you want an all BA set with QDC and L shaped tuning.:L3000:

I think the reason KZ doesn't put a 10mm yet in their 3DD configs is that it will increase the size of the IEM even more. The problem is that some people say that their 8mm doesn't have the bass texture of their standard 10mm XUN.

Also, I think that after the DQ6 and specially ZAS, I don't think I heard many KZ/CCA IEMs with that same deep bass with good texture.

In my opinion HM20 have pretty good bass. And it comes with 7mm dynamic driver.

I'd received the KZ rhapsody for the $35 promotion. Spent a couple of hours listening to my Amazon HD playlist with my Oriveti OD200 IEMs. I was thinking how fantastic they were......Sat in 7th heaven. When I went to remove them.....guess what.....I'd been listening to the KZ Rhapsody all the time, 3.5mm, through the HiBy R6 III. I had changed it to the KZ copper upgrade cable though. Wow that shows they are a good'un. Really impressed

Today I received another KZ - this time the no-switch D-Fi. Gotta say it was amazingly fast delivery since I ordered them little more than a week ago - must've been sent from some european warehouse. Anyway, they're fine, but I'm not as amazed as I were with ZVX. They're "just" ok, at least for my tastes.

I'm impressed with D-Fi, and waiting for the "legendary 3DD"

speaking of legendary dd, the 8mm "legendary" dd is also found in the ZAT, it does look like the Trio has the composite diaphragm like the ZAT too, but i cant truly confirm that yet until someone shows us.

i forgot about this, this is might be it?
i haven't ask to KZ rep.

the problem with KZ "Legendary" DD is not quite clear on what makes it "legendary".
It IS a good DD, that have been confirmed with greater tech capability compared to their predecessor but have weakness in narrow soundstage.
Its what kills HM20 as many review points out the CXS "legendary" DD is clearly better than the one in HM20 despite its half the price or something.
---
That being said, it'll be pretty funny if CCA Trio ended having equally good tuning to Rhapsody while better in tech despite having (3DD vs 2DD+4BA) setup difference.

Has anyone here ever compared the KZ AST to the newer KZ AS24 switchless model? I really enjoy my music through the AST but have wondered if the AS24 improved on it, or sounds the same.
