New CCA IEM with 3DD (+4 switch) config is coming

1705391419168.jpeg

no additional info yet.
currently wondering whether this uses the new gen DD that recently used in ZSN2 or uses the older "legendary" DD that is in CXS?
"High freq division" possibly means there is dedicated treble DD?
and diversified tuning could be thesaurus for adjustable tuning switches or entirely new tuning sig hence diversified from usual KZ tuning?
I wonder if it's based on the old DQ6 configuration?

Huh, this is somewhat interesting.
KZ uses hybrid shell, the inner part is a dlp 3d printed innards and then the outershell is the usual Molded injection
Per their statement, this is to have better acoustic structure and less inner glue (and possibly cheaper than full on DLP-3D printed shell)

👉
In terms of acoustic structure, compared to traditional molded earphones, which are often cumbersome to produce with low consistency in handmade products and difficult to meet complex structural design requirements, the CCA 3DD IEM adopts a 3D printed inner support combined with mold forming design. This design perfectly solves the complex requirements for acoustic structure. The high-precision 25-micron DLP 3D printed inner support ensures higher production consistency for irregular constructions, smaller tolerances, precise transmission, and stability in quality due to reduced use of glue.

There is a bit inconsistency in their wording for the driver usage but the last sentence is as expected.
The CCA 3DD IEM uses a three-driver crossover design, with each driver unit responsible for one frequency range, ensuring no interference and maintaining the coloration of the three frequencies.

Still a blind buy, no FR graph.

I have the Zsn Pro 2. Not even bad if one likes strong highs. I think fans of the Simgot EA500 or CCA Pianist will like them. The resolution for a budget iem is also unprecedentedly high. The timbre is also approachable especially from the bottom to the middle.

With my tolerance it varies. Sometimes I like a strong treble, sometimes I can't stand it, usually it turns out to be over the long haul.

My scale of boost (hf) on selected models:
Kanas Pro - 0
Xenns Mangird Top - 1
Artti T10 - 2
Zsn Pro 2 - 3
Cvj Freedom - 5 (Unacceptable)

It seems they try to retain the older ZSN Pro treble level (well tuning) but smooth it out and improve the resolution.

I had Zsn Pro, from my memory it was quite dry and low res iem. But my sound memory is not unquestionable. Imo Zsn Pro 2 is more like CRA (and I can direct compare them), bit darker and with better timbre. CRA in other hand has better transition from bass to mids.

No, they are entirely different. First of all, they are entirely different frequency division designs Meanwhile, the DQ6S has two dynamic drivers that work for high frequency, but CCA 3DD with 1DD works for sub-bass, 1DD works for bass, and 1DD works for treble.

...where is the mids DD?
the middle Bass+Mids DD?

@r31ya but you are right. it's still kind of variation.. or evolution.

Zsn Pro - chainsaw type mid-highs
CRA - still unnecessary peak at about 5khz
Zsn Pro 2 - a bit too exciting (8 to 10 khz)

Finally tried the BA10. Wow, it is much more cleaner in terms of sound than AS16 Pro. I am impressed. Bass is better on AS16 Pro though.

What are your favourite IEMs from KZ/CCA?
My list with no order: CCA CRA (i have v2), KZ ZS10 Pro X, CCA Polaris, KZ Castor Bass, KZ ZS7, CCA C10. Maybe KZ BA10 is here too, but i spent too little time with it yet.

I prefer BA10 to AS16 pro, and ZS7 is also one of my favourite KZs.

CCA: CRA, Rhapsody, HM20
KZ: BA10, D-Fi, Krilla
D-Fi with or without tuning switches? Or are the switches just a meme anyway?
The no-switches D-Fi is ridiculously cheap in a "buy 3 items sale" so I'm considering getting one.
