I think my Castor Bass was either damaged during burn in at the lowest volume or the Faaeal Hibiscus cable sounds really bad with it... or both?

The KBEAR KS2 kicks the Castor Bass's ass! I know it's a 1DD and 1BA...

It's definitely going to be the cable. Try a different one, surely they'll sound like Noble Kublai Khan 😂😂😂. Sorry...

OK, but one ~15mm DD can be in the place of 2x 8mm ones; unit has BAs for mid and treble.
So, sorry, what is the point ?
The use of multiple DD configuration while there are BAs for mids and treble might be to help tune for a deeper bass and definition. The problem of a bigger DD can often be speed, it will be slower which might reproduce a flabby bass.

Of course I’m not sure whether you really wanted to know why use 2 DDs or you hate that there are two DDs.

Thank you !

No hate, I am just curious.

Decided to dissect the unit. What surprises me is that I found glue in front of the nozzle coming out of the two connected BA units. The glue is still very sticky.

I barely used these headphones so I doubt this is due moisture. I also never use any of my headphones longer than 1h, usually giving break in every 30 min.

Its the glue melt/leak.
I saw several cases in KZ iems.

Not sure the warranty still applied if you already dissect it.

But if you bought it from kztws or kzofficialstore in ali, you could ask for replacement if the 1 year warranty could apply

Because of you all talking about AS16 Pro i spent last 3 days with them. Its a good iem. When you hear it first time of the day - its little bit muddy, but then after one song i am getting used to it and have no complains until next morning :dt880smile:

Try some wide bore tips. That opens up the sound nicely.

Are the ones that comes with 7hz iems wide bore? 7hz 07, 14mm yellow center. I also tried clarion, sedna xelastic and moondrop foam tips.

I do not have any 7Hz tips, but if you can see all of the nozzle then that is a wide bore tip.

I agree. The widest I have are sancai wide bore and tennmak turbo whirlwind; tennmak's sound great.

Adding an impedance adapter should raise the treble region.

That's an instant 'pass' for me especially compared to already shouty/bass light PR2. Looks like this version is moving more towards Moondrop Stellaris than let's say 7Hz Timeless AE or Nicehck F1 w. black filter. Obviously graphs don't dictate everything but still.

I'm more surprised HBB kept doing collab with KZ after low-key throwing KZ under the bus multiple times. Shrugging off like, ' Tuning? My tuning was right, my initial tuning is awesome, it's all on KZ this and that... '. What's scary is everyone automatically siding with him without actually AB-ing, and buying into that crap instead of admitting PR2 is not for everyone. I truly believe some do like PR2 because it's all about preference in this hobby! But divert any blames while taking the bag SMH.
