Thanks my BA buddy! Glad you liked the music (after all that's what it's all about!).

My all BAs, in KZ I have AS16 Pro, AS12, AST and BA10. I think AS16 Pro is the best so far, finally replacing my venerable BA10.

I did have CCA A10, C16 and CS16 but these were too bright for me. Also have TRN BA5 and X7 which are both good, Hidizs MD4, Aiderlot M5 and Westone AM Pro X10.

Bearing this in mind have you any recommendations for other all BA IEMs apart from AS24?

Also agree about Castor, it is excellent.
Great to hear!
AS16 pro are very nice and capable all-BA IEM, only AS24 are only noticeably better to me, largely by smoother mids, and that switches work ideal for my preferences - right from a bit to lean (Hexa scare, I call it) to a bit too bassy.
A10 are bright indeed, C16 was to me a marvel of thick mids (treble was dampened to my preferences, so it was by first mode under the guidance of Master Slater to free it a bit removing filters, but then again treble is not C16 strength).
So not to digress more - AS16 pro are great to enjoy for many ears and not bother to "upgrade".

Some quick shot of shell comparison below from my attempts on comparative tests:
20231106_080736.jpg

First row, left to right: Castor, Pianist, good old AS10, ZAT, AS24.
Bottom row, left to right: Audiosense T800, HiSenior T4, Phoenixcall, 1 More Penta.

T800 is a personal great advice of @baskinshark (that works the best, if you can get one here), and the only IEM in my collection that competes and outcompetes KZ in some aspects.
T4 are great/exemplary for mid clarity (I am more of a V/U person).

Thank you for that. After some research I have ordered a 30 ohm impedance adaptor (J Cally) so I can have the best of both worlds. I like the AS16 Pro just as it is, but I will report back when I have tested the adaptor.

Like I mentioned before, sometimes it just takes finding the right cable, tips or sometimes both. These are sounding pretty good across the spectrum now but Shanling may have a wee but of influence

I am still experimenting. Sent for a 30 ohm adaptor today. Changed the tips to Spiral Dots. Tonality is a bit warmer and staging has improved. Work in progress. How do you rate it against the mighty BA10?

@Kallbo , indeed it is. Out of 5 cables I had available it's the best one on these.

Honestly they have added BA's but not a lot of anything in particular, for $30 bones they are nice but not anywhere near the $76 BA10 which is the perfect match in drivers and volume. Same goes for my DM6's and HQ12's!

My KZ D-Fi Unswitched sounds like it has thin sound. I heard someone say KZ's new drivers sound this way? Either way, I find it not giving anything special over other earphones in the market place. The KZ Castor Bass however... is a worthy buy! [so far]

I have the D-fi and Castor bass incoming. Both showed up on cheap offers on AE.

Nah, Chinese manufacturers are way too respectful of intellectual property to rip off someone else's product!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I was just referring to the 2DD + 3BA configuration!
