Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

I found the PR2 only sound good with a semi-powerful warm source and foam tips. Otherwise the sound will be thin with anemic bass.
defintely this, I've only used it with a balanced cable and either using a Fiio KA5 set to hi gain or a Venture Electronics Megatron and it does sound good through those, but it sure is awfully hungry

After the misinformation (I mean all these promo posters f.e. https://kz-audio.com/kz-as16-pro.html ) about BAs in AS16Pro and AS16PRo High Impedance Edition I need to see what BAs are actually inside AS24.
So here is photo AS16Pro (credits to https://player.ru/showthread.php?t=303310 ) (first attached photo, all other attached photos and circuit image are mine)
Mistery 'KZ 91010' BA is used instead of KZ 22955. It's two unknown BAs in pair, one has no any label and second one has soldered vent.
Two KZ 29689 BAs and both have hardly glued vent.
'Four' KZ 31736s (two in pair) are used instead of 31736. BAs with 's' are also used in AST https://www.head-fi.org/threads/knowledge-zenith-kz-impressions-thread.698148/post-17394976 But in the case of AS16Pro that still means nothing good.

I opened up my 'AS16PRo High Impedance Edition' because I don't like how them sounds. I will not regret if I break them.
So I found that BAs set is the same. I guess the difference in crossover and BAs's connection. I don't know how BAs were connected in AS16Pro and probably they were connected in parallel.
In my case, 'AS16PRo High Impedance Edition', all BAs connected in series. The crossover board is similar to AST ( https://www.head-fi.org/threads/knowledge-zenith-kz-impressions-thread.698148/post-17399948 ) but with some differences and other nominals.
The thing I almost hate is QC - 'KZ 91010' BA in right earphone is turned upside down (in compare to left earphone) so I have no safe access to unsolder vent at the bottom BA in right earphone. (In compare QC of AST where all BAs in left and right earphones look installed symmetrically).
I'll try to do something to AST similarity (I mean changing in connection and crossover mod) or break them in trying.

Is the /headphones Reddit down for anyone else? Says it's a private community now when I try and view it

/headphones went temporarily dark like many other subreddits that are protesting changes that happened at reddit with third party apps. It will be back up in a few days.

Any AS24 standard, (non-tunable), graphs posted?
Paul Wasabii found his preferred settings were highest bass setting, mids and treble on intermediate setting.
If that's how the non-tunable one is set, hmmm might be a buy.
What will be the price?

Getting a pair of KZ PR2 now for just about $30. In fact it's my first KZ purchase since the original PR1 hifi-edition. I bought a IMR planar IEM at the time, so moved PR1 quickly since the other ones were more relaxed, but I do remember PR1 being technically decent, although some instrument notes sounded weird. If they had made improvements on these areas, probably a no brainier for the price.

Calm down dude. Your analysis sounds professional to someone who has no technical knowledge, but there are many errors. I'm not sure if you are shill from another brand or kz hater. But it's very common that not every BA has to use a label. So do other brands. There is also another name called 22955BA. The glue is UV glue, which is very commonly used in the IEM industry. 31376s is a customized BA from KZ,which is better than standard 31376.

Probably they just ran out of the BA with 22955 engraving
Even more they stated two 22955 but these two BAs that I have, they don't look identical.
Let me name the pair as 'unit', the 'unit' made from two BAs glued together. I see the label only on one visible side, only on top BA. The bottom BA has no label on visible side. And there is two hidden sides in contact I cannot see.
The left earphone has that 'unit' with label toward faceplate, but in right earphone the 'unit' turned upside down - no label toward faceplate (wrong non symmetrical installation).
I can only guess, referring to KZ 22955 photo https://www.head-fi.org/threads/knowledge-zenith-kz-impressions-thread.698148/post-17419104 , the bottom BA can be KZ 22955, since it has label on other side in compare to KZ 91010 design. So the label can be hidden two contacted sides.
