I've demoed the higher end model of klipsch's a few months back and really liked how they sound. But my current computer sound system of choice right now are headphones
For 2.1 systems you should be looking at those from Klipsch, Cambridge, and Altec Lansing. Which you prefer will depend on personal preference, because they're all good choices.
I'd recommend the swans for better quality sound, better imaging. The subs on multimedia speakers cross over really high, making the sub play really high, which hurts. The only way for a small driver to play down low is lots of power and a big cabinet, none of which multimedia speakers have. Including the subwoofers. If the swans are like the event tr5, they'll be higher fidelity at the expense of one note bass slam.
I still recommend the Swan M200s. If you must have wall-shaking bass, a powered sub can be added later. I am considering the Klipsch RW-8 for movies. Frankly, the accuracy and musicality of the Swans is amazing.
i looked into the klipsch and the swans, the swans seem to be a speaker that is needed to be rite next to your pc, unlike the klip.
if you are useing ur pc as a dlasting bedroom stereo go klip, if your useing it for near field then go swans..besides the swans remind me of a set of sonus faber's
The TDK Tremor 150 is another set that I'd call high end 2 channel. Surprisingly good actually. A flatmate of mine used it full time as with a cd player as a source.
