Hard agree. Synergy is the biggest pita of this hobby tbh.

Happy to report that I think Kimber Kable with Weiss DAC just saved my relationship with electrostatic systems.

Technically, Weiss has the industry leading spatial accuracy and neutrality that corrected the unorthodox stage and tuning of X9000 with a result similar to what I found in Warwick Aperio. Even classical music sounds soooo darn good now with X9000.

Meanwhile musically, the Kimber PC brought more body, beef and elastic bottom ends to the system, as I used to find the Weiss a tad too thin sounding. The Kimber PC really revolutionized the musicality, body and bass aspects with noticeably more focused vocals. Now I might even prefer the Weiss& Kimber PC combination to DACs priced many times more in this particular setup.

It reaffirmed my belief that sometimes even when you think you have heard everything, it just takes a different combination to change everything!

I feel my chase of Electrostatic systems could also end happily I am hearing a more dynamic, bigger, more musical and bassier Aperio with T2& Weiss& Kimber PC

Have you tried any shunyata or purist PC? This is the first time Ive read such claims for kimber PC specifically though their other cables have much acclaim (even I had an isb cable i liked but sold, regrets..)

The choice of cable is dependent on the sound sig you want. I want more body, beef and bouncy lows with my DAC, so silver cables are not what I’m looking for. I did use silver coated cable on T2 with Russian tubes though to make the sound more controlled.

I mean I am hearing a more dynamic, bigger, more musical and bassier version of Aperio with T2& Weiss& Kimber PC. But Aperio is still the most accurate.

Placing my T2 with multi-tier isolation bases on the Adona Reference marble stand, I start to understand why HE-1 would chop the highest quality of marbles from mountains in Italy as its amp materials!

The marbles made the notes sparkles and shines like diamonds in the most organic and dynamic fashion!

I feel I am at a point of not wanting to further upgrade the DAC, the clock, or the streamer, in that I have heard my electrostatic end game to make me peace out!

In this video I was using esoteric discrete dac with PAAT streaming with Soulnote X3 master clock. It does sound similar to Aperio that I loved since its US debut in 2019. I admit I have been influenced by Aperio sound building my electrostatic system.

My X3 is the first US version but it only has one clock output, so I can’t synchronize the clock with multiple sources with clock input such as Aurender N20/30 that I also love.



Another good setup with T2 I found is Weiss DAC with Grimm MU1 streamer with HRS isolation.

Many people I trust told me Linn Organik sounds best with T2, I ordered their newest Mono Organik version which hasn’t arrived in US. But they definitely look as belonging with T2 in a superficial and aesthetic sense. I only heard DMS 3 Klimax in a few bookshelf and floor standing loudspeaker systems, I could tell it is definitely clean enough also with bouncy bass and 3D that could potentially go well with electrostatic systems.

We've been busy with other projects and have put the portable amp on hold for a while. I think it is still something we'd like to add at some point.
